Built in Lahore, for clinics that were not being served
VetCentra is a small software company in Lahore. We make one product, for one kind of customer, and we would rather it be genuinely right for a hundred clinics than roughly adequate for a thousand.
Why this exists
The good veterinary systems in the world are made for practices that book appointments weeks ahead, take card payments at a terminal, submit insurance claims, and reach owners by email. None of those four things describes a busy clinic in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad. So practices here either pay for software they use a quarter of, or they carry on with a register, a calculator and a WhatsApp group.
We started from the other end: sat in clinics, watched a morning, and built for what was actually happening. That is why the first thing on the home page is a token slip on an 80 mm roll rather than a dashboard. It is the artefact the day runs on.
What we care about in the software
Three things, and they are unusual enough to be worth stating.
Records that cannot quietly change. A medical record cannot be deleted; corrections void and amend and the original stays readable. Stock movements cannot be edited. Invoice numbers are gapless and never reused. A file that can be silently rewritten is not evidence of anything, and the moment a clinic needs it — a disputed bill, a questioned treatment — is exactly the moment that matters.
Separation enforced where it cannot be forgotten. Every record carries the clinic it belongs to, and the database itself refuses to return another practice’s rows. Not a filter in the application that a future change might miss. There is an automated check that proves the isolation holds, and it runs against every deployment.
The clinic decides how the clinic works. The consultation form, the visit purposes, the medicine list, the message templates, the tax wording, the staff roles — all of it belongs to the practice. We are not qualified to tell a vet what to ask on a form, and a practice that has to wait for us to hire someone on a Tuesday is a practice we have made worse.
How we work with clinics
In Lahore we set practices up in person. Everywhere else, onboarding runs over WhatsApp and a screen share and usually takes an afternoon. We do not run a call centre; you get a person who knows the product.
We also say no. If a practice’s main need is radiograph storage, or herd-level dairy production, or working with no internet at the front desk, we say so rather than sell around it. A clinic that buys the wrong thing tells everyone.
Where to find us
We are in Lahore, Punjab. The fastest way to reach us is WhatsApp on +92 319 3789655, or email info@vetcentra.com.
Come and argue with us
The best conversations we have are with vets who tell us what we have got wrong about their clinic. Those are the ones that change the product.
