WhatsApp reminders for vet clinics, without risking your number
Vaccination and follow-up worklists, messages written in your clinic’s own words, and documents delivered as links — sent properly, from the number your clients already know.
- Worklists for who is due a vaccination, a recheck or a report this week
- Templates with variables, written by the clinic in the language that client reads
- Prescriptions, invoices and lab reports delivered as links
- Messages go from the clinic’s own number, one at a time — no QR-scanning blasters
- Ready for the official WhatsApp Business API when volume justifies it
Email does not reach a pet owner here
Practice software written for North America or Europe assumes email. In Pakistan, an email to a pet owner is a message that will not be read — many owners never give a working address, and the ones who do check it for work and nothing else.
WhatsApp is where people read, reply and keep things they might need later. So it is where the reminders, the reports and the invoice copies go.
The shortcut that gets clinic numbers banned
Bulk WhatsApp tools that work by scanning a QR code with your phone are cheap, effective for about three weeks, and against WhatsApp’s terms. The pattern they produce — hundreds of near-identical messages to numbers that never messaged first — is exactly what detection looks for.
The ban lands on the number printed on your signboard, on every invoice, and in every client’s phone. We do not use them, and we would advise against any vendor that offers to.
Assisted sending, then the API when it earns its place
Below roughly a hundred messages a week, the software builds the list and prepares each message; a staff member presses send from the clinic’s own WhatsApp. That is about ten minutes of somebody’s Thursday and carries no risk at all.
Above that, the official WhatsApp Business API is the right answer, and the templates, variables and worklists are already built for it — only the delivery step changes.
Common questions
Can we send bulk WhatsApp messages to all our clients?
Not safely with QR-scanning bulk tools — they breach WhatsApp’s terms and routinely get the sending number banned. VetCentra prepares each message for a staff member to send from the clinic’s own WhatsApp, and supports the official Business API when volume justifies it.
Can a prescription or invoice be attached?
Not as a file attachment, because a wa.me link carries text only. The document is generated, stored at a public address and sent as a link the owner taps.
Who writes the message?
You do. Templates use variables like the pet’s name and the date due, but the wording and the language are the clinic’s own.
Does it work in Urdu?
Templates are written by the clinic, so they can be in Urdu, English or both. Which language a given client is written to in is a property of that client rather than a global setting.
